1. Sacred Games
The web series is a cliché crime saga and has set a high benchmark for India’s first Netflix original. This show focuses on the incredible hide and seeks between Saif Ali Khan who plays a Police office and Nawazuddin Siddiqui who plays a gang leader and the honest cop quest to save Mumbai. The other supporting characters of Kuku, Bunty and Katekar are also a treat to watch. The series received by its dense plotting and the superb cast is worth positive praise for the performances. Well, I will recommend you to watch season 1 as season 2 is a little disappointing compared to season 1.
She is a crime drama web series on Netflix by filmmaker Imtiaz Ali. The story focuses on a lady constable in the Indian police force hired for a special operation. The series shows how she becomes difficult with this secret operation and goes to undercover a major drug operation. Bhumika Pardeshi plays the character of senior constable Aaditi Pohankar. Vijay Varma also plays a lead role in the series. I recommend this because of its unusual topic and the journey of a woman realizing her dormant sexuality’s potential.
Mirzapur is an Indian crime thriller web series on Amazon Prime Video. The series is primarily based around Mirzapur and revolves around drugs, guns, and lawlessness. It portrays the adulteration, governance, and rule of mafia dons. Its first season consists of 9 episodes. The series has an outstanding performance from a cast like Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Divyendu Sharma, and others. Personally, my favorite performance is by Divyendu Sharma and Ali Fazal.
4. The Family Man
The family man is an Indian action-drama web series on Prime Video. It is the story of a middle-class man who works for the National Investigation Agency. While no one has any idea about his job, he tries to protect the nation from terrorists. He also has to protect his family and deal with a lot of issues with his secretive job. Manoj Bajpayee has done a commendable job as Srikant Tiwari. I have always been a fan of Manoj Bajpayee since Satya. If you are looking for a well-scripted plot and an amazing portrayal of characters, I can suggest you watch this.
5. Criminal Justice
I would suggest criminal justice because of the fabulous acting by the lead actors and the thriller climax. I have always been a fan of Pankaj Tripathi acting. Vikrant Massey has really come out of his space and does a wonderful job in the thrilling series. It is the story of a cab driver Aditya, played by Vikrant Massey accused of the murder of Sanaya. What makes it worst is he has no recollection of the night spent with her. The series works because of the story and its two central characters. It engages the audiences till last and no one could expect such an ending. It also stars Jackie Shroff, Anupriya Goenka and Mita Vashisht in supporting roles. But the verdict definitely goes in the favor of Vikrant Massey.
6. Delhi crime
Inspired by the Delhi Nirbhaya gang-rape case which shook the entire nation. Delhi Crime presents how the Delhi Police acted during the tenuous political conditions. While some people thought it showed a story to favor the authorities, what actually worked for me is Shefali Shah‘s powerful performance. Her portrayal as Deputy Commissioner of Police who is assigned to find the culprits for the gang is one of her best roles so far. I suggest this series will make you truly appreciate the efforts of the Indian Police and their thankless job.
7. TVF Tripling
Some of you may think about what is new about this series from TVF. What actually worked for me is the Sibling bond. The series is about three siblings trying to showcase the bond between three siblings Chandan (Sumeet Vyas), Chanchal (Maanvi Gagroo) and Chitwan (Amol Parashar) have walked in different directions of life, due to circumstances take a trip together. It is a hilarious, comedy series. It will definitely make you spend some time with your siblings and prep up to you for a road journey across India.
8. Little Things
Little Things is a story of every young couple who are living together or planning to. It deals with the modern-day relationships and navigates you through the ups and downs every couple faces. The story focuses on Kavya Kulkarni and Dhruv Vats, a couple living together in Mumbai. The series shows the everyday conversations, issues, fights and the love between the lead pair. The story is really good and in the end, you can relate the emotions felt. Some good performance by the lead actors, the writing and the dialogues will actually make you believe they are just like any other couple. It is a must-watch for people in love as it will bring a little spice in your life. It helps you to evolve and no matter what stay together. It’s a sweet and romantic series, I recommend everyone to watch.
